Faculty member to speak about economic growth

The next presentation in St. Scholastica's Peace and Justice speaker series will focus on the connection between economic growth and sustainability.

Robert Hoffman, Ph.D. will give a talk entitled "Economic Growth Still Matters" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 in the Mitchell Auditorium on campus. Hoffman is an assistant professor of economics in St. Scholastica's School of Business and Technology. He has undergraduate degrees in economics and philosophy, and a Ph.D. in economics with concentrations in developmental and labor economics from Boston College.

Hoffman has taught courses in globalization, economic development, health care economics and game theory. His research interests include evolutionary psychology.

The theme for this year's Alworth Center for Peace and Justice Lecture Series is "The Challenge of Living Sustainably." The rest of this year's lineup is:
