The College of St. Scholastica

A Solid Foundation for Your Future in Law

St. Scholastica offers a unique multidisciplinary pre-law program, along with advisement and mentoring from dedicated faculty members. You’ll never have to go it alone — your advisors will help you with course selection, teach you about the legal profession and guide you through the complexities of the law school application process.

Your coursework will develop your skills in critical thinking, leadership, research, analysis, communication and presentation. You’ll build a strong network through the Pre-Law Society, and you will have the opportunity to attend enriching activities like roundtable discussions about on-campus legal issues.

Pre-law students have completed internships at many area law firms and at the St. Louis County Attorney’s Office. Program graduates have gone on to pursue graduate study and law school at many fine institutions across the country.

A Pathway to Earn Your Law Degree

The pre-law program at St. Scholastica also boasts a 3+3 partnership with Mitchell Hamline Law School. The 3+3 program allows especially prepared students who are interested in attending Mitchell Hamline to complete both their undergraduate degree and a law degree in six years.

As a student in the program, you will work closely with your advisors to complete both your St. Scholastica general education requirements and the requirements for a major in three years. You’ll then begin attending Mitchell Hamline during what would typically be your fourth year of undergraduate work. If you’re interested in this program, you must apply to Mitchell Hamline and be accepted to the law school during your second year at St. Scholastica, and must do so under the same criteria as all other applicants.
