Admissions requirements

The College of St. Scholastica admits qualified students from diverse cultural, geographical, economic, religious and racial backgrounds. Applications are evaluated based on information that demonstrates an ability to succeed both academically and socially at St. Scholastica.

Admissions criteria

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or its equivalent (GED)
  • St. Scholastica does not have a foreign language requirement for admission, however, we do have a requirement for graduation from the College as part of our general education program. NOTE: We require either a year at the college level, or, if you have completed at least three years of the same language in high school (grades 9-12) you are considered exempt from the requirement.
  • Calculated Index Score (CNX), calculated using the cumulative high school grade point average.
  • St. Scholastica offers test-optional admission. Applicants must provide a composite college-bound test score on the ACT (our code is 2098) or SAT (our code is 6107) OR written essay describing overall academic accomplishments.
  • Participation in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, church and other personal enrichment activities

We accept transcripts several ways, as we know every school manages them differently. We accept paper copies, as well as electronic transcripts via Parchment and/or

If you choose to use standardized test scores, they can be included on your transcript, sent to us officially from ACT (our code is 2098) or SAT (our code is 6107), or to speed the process up, you can download a copy of your score report from your ACT account online, and attach it in an email to your admissions counselor.

If you prefer to submit a paper application, call us at (800) 249-6412 or email, and we will mail one to you.

Applicants who do not meet the established admissions requirements may be considered for Special Status admission. Special Status applicants are accepted for fall semester entry only.  If you have a question regarding deadlines/special status process, please contact Lindsey Lindstrom at
