St. Scholastica welcomed the start of the Christmas season with its annual Advent Vespers service, "Lighting a Tradition" tree lighting ceremony and President's Holiday Party on Dec. 6. The festivities continued on Dec. 13 with a campus holiday party for students, faculty, staff and families. Enjoy this highlights video of these celebrations.
The College's traditional Advent Vespers service, held in Our Lady Queen of Peace chapel on campus, offered reflections on this season of anticipation. Afterward, members of the community joined Sisters from the St. Scholastica Monastery and students, faculty and staff from the College for a brief ceremony featuring Christmas carols and a countdown to the main event, the lighting of the tree in front of Tower Hall. Participants then enjoyed a warmup with hot cocoa and cookies in the Tower foyer. The event is sponsored by the Student Alumni Association.
At the President's Holiday Dinner, longtime College supporters gathered for food and fellowship, music from the CSS Choirs, and an inspirational message from President Colette Geary. The campus holiday party on Dec. 13 featured a free meal for students, faculty and staff, free dessert, and a visit from Santa.
