The College's biannual community-wide volunteering event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 22.
Hundreds of students, faculty and staff will set aside the day to give back by participating in volunteer projects in partnership with nonprofit agencies around the community.
Among the most high-profile events of the day is the CSS Day at the Capitol. The daylong event gives students a chance to travel to St. Paul to meet with their state government representatives and lobby in favor of the Minnesota State Grant, an important funding source for college students. The College covers student transportation, breakfast and lunch.
"This is a valuable professional development opportunity for students in all academic majors," said Janet Rosen, associate vice president for College Advancement. "I would encourage all students to consider taking advantage of this chance to get involved in state government."
