Silent auction raises funds for scholarships

The public is welcome to the St. Scholastica Alumni Association's silent auction later this month to raise scholarship funds for students with a family legacy at the College.

Qualifying students who are children, nephews or nieces of St. Scholastica alumni are eligible for the need- and merit-based award.

The main fundraiser for the scholarship is the silent auction, which kicks off St. Scholastica's "Celebrating Saints" alumni reunion weekend festivities. This year's auction takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 26 in the Benedictine Commons on campus.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the Maxi Childs Trio, and auction bidding ends at 8 p.m. Members of the community are invited to join St. Scholastica alumni in this celebration of the College. Admission is $20, which includes heavy hors d'oeuvres. Admission costs go toward the scholarship fund, but are not tax-deductible.

Highlights of items available include: An hors d'oeuvres and champagne party for 25; a private wine tasting for 20; a home office upgrade package; a fully stocked 12-bottle wine fridge; and a variety of hotel and resort stays, restaurant gift certificates, art, jewelry, and pro sports tickets and memorabilia.
