The College of St. Scholastica

100% of Saints Receive Financial Aid

As a private college, St. Scholastica is committed to making college attainable. That’s why we award millions of dollars in scholarships each year to help students achieve their goals and earn their degrees. Everyone who applies for financial aid from St. Scholastica receives it. In fact, many students find us less expensive to attend than a four-year public institution.

Our financial aid counselors are here to help you and your family apply for aid, understand your award, and make a plan for paying for college. Start your future now!

Discover the Value of Your College Education

Between the education and experiences you’ll gain, and the connections and contacts you’ll make, it’s hard to ignore the value that a degree brings. On average, students who earn a college degree are likely to make $500,000 more over their lifetime than those who only hold a high school diploma. And, that gap widens even further for those who attain advanced degrees. View our Outcomes to learn more about St. Scholastica’s accolades and what our students have achieved.

Financial Aid: Step-by Step

Step 1: Submit Your FAFSA

Start by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This first step helps determine your eligibility for federal, state, and institutional financial aid.

Step 2: Check Your Financial Aid Offer

After we receive your FAFSA information, we’ll prepare and send you a personalized financial aid offer. It will outline the grants, scholarships, work-study opportunities, and loan options available to you.

Step 3: Choose Your Aid

Decide which types of aid you want to accept. Grants and scholarships are funds you don’t have to repay, while loans and work-study require additional consideration. Instructions will be provided to accept or decline loan options.

Fill Out Your FAFSA

The FAFSA is now open and it’s important to start the process early! Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year is the first step in determining your financial aid package and how much aid you may be eligible to receive.

Use Federal School Code 002343.

Paying for College

Sticker Price vs. Net Price

Sticker price is the full, published cost of attending a college before scholarships and other financial aid are applied. It’s a starting point, not the final bill. Net price is what you actually pay – the cost of attendance reduced by scholarships, and personalized financial aid.

Direct vs. Indirect Costs

Tuition and fees are known as the “direct costs.” Keep in mind that St. Scholastica discounts, outside scholarships, grants, and other financial aid can bring down these direct costs significantly. Financial aid may also help you pay for indirect costs like housing, food, and other personal expenses.

Scholarships

St. Scholastica offers several scholarships for our first-year and transfer students, some of which are awarded automatically upon acceptance.
