The College of St. Scholastica

The College of St. Scholastica will welcome the newest generation of Saints with an engaging lineup of events designed to foster connections and ease the transition into college life. These festivities mark the official start to the academic year and invite the Class of 2029 to become part of the St. Scholastica community.

August Adventures

Incoming students are invited to participate in an August Adventure of their choice. August Adventure students move in early and make new friends through activities designed exclusively for incoming first-year students. Opportunities include serving the community, joining an outdoor adventure, or building leadership skills.

Move-in Day

Welcome Weekend truly kicks off with move-in at Somers Hall on Friday, Aug. 29. Incoming students can check in for the weekend and move in their belongings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., after which new Saints and their families will be treated to a community lunch. Please note: students who have arrived early or who are commuting can check in between noon and 2 p.m. at the Port.

Contact Residential Life with questions about move-in day procedures.

Welcome Weekend

Following goodbyes to families, students will start their college journey with the introduction to their Delta Groups. These small, peer-led groups help to facilitate personal connections throughout Welcome Weekend. From Friday, Aug. 29, to Monday, Sept. 1, the Class of 2029 will participate in informational sessions and social activities as Delta Groups to ensure a successful transition to St. Scholastica.

Convocation

The College will celebrate the start of the academic year with a convocation ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 2. This ceremony, which takes place on the first day of classes, allows students to better identify with their place in the institution and their membership within their class.

As Welcome Weekend and other new semester activities draw closer, we look forward to welcoming the Class of 2029 to the St. Scholastica community.
