That’s Old News: Turkey like it’s 1999

As The College of St. Scholastica prepares for the annual Twin Ports Region Thanksgiving Day Buffet, WDIO’s The Lift invited viewers to take a nostalgic look back at the event’s 10-year anniversary in 1999. The throwback video showcased the buffet’s evolution over the past three decades, highlighting its deep roots in community engagement.

Looking ahead, the 2025 Thanksgiving Buffet promises to continue the tradition on Thursday, Nov. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC). This year, community participation is more important than ever:

• Over 700 volunteers are needed.
• More than 6,000 meals will be served.
• 1,200 of those meals will be delivered to homebound individuals.
