St. Scholastica prepares to welcome the newest Saints: The Class of 2030
As summer winds down, The College of St. Scholastica prepares to open its doors to the newest Saints, the Class of 2030. These students will arrive at the Duluth main campus in just a few weeks to a series of events designed to help them feel connected and supported at the start of their college experience.
Grounded in the College’s Benedictine values of community and hospitality, these events will support first-year students from Move-in Day to the start of classes. Please join us in welcoming the Class of 2030 to the St. Scholastica community!
August Adventures
For students eager to build relationships before classes even begin, August Adventures offer an early arrival with purpose. Incoming students select a shared experience, such as serving the local community, heading outdoors, or developing leadership skills. By the time Welcome Weekend arrives, August Adventures participants already have new connections with other first-year students.
More information about August Adventures, including program-specific information, is available at css.edu/augustadventures.
Move-in Day
Welcome Weekend officially begins with move-in at Somers Hall on Friday, Sept. 4. The Class of 2030 will check in and move their belongings between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., after which new Saints and their families are invited to share a community lunch in the Greenview Dining Room. Students who arrived early or who commute may check in at the Port between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The College’s Residential Life team is available for any questions or concerns about the move-in process.
Welcome Weekend
Once families say their goodbyes, the weekend turns to the newest Saints. Students are introduced to their small, peer-led Delta Groups that serve as a home base throughout the weekend. From Friday, Sept. 4, to Monday, Sept. 7, these groups move together through informational sessions and social activities to ensure a positive and successful transition into the College.
A detailed schedule and additional information about Welcome Weekend can be found at css.edu/welcomeweekend.
Convocation
The first day of classes on Tuesday, Sept. 8, opens with one of St. Scholastica’s most enduring traditions. At Convocation in the Mitchell Auditorium, the College formally welcomes the Class of 2030 and celebrates each student’s place within the institution and their class.
As these events draw closer, The College of St. Scholastica looks forward to welcoming the Class of 2030 and the connections, traditions, and milestones that lie ahead.
