Dear Colleagues,

Heartfelt thanks to Christine Sandal and her entire team for helping the Duluth Kenwood Campus host a booster clinic yesterday. Together, with our Nursing students, they administered 237 COVID-19 boosters! Amazing news as we continue to safeguard the health of our Saints community.

“Band Together to Protect Each Other”

This year, more than ever, it’s important to take steps to protect yourself and others from flu by getting your flu vaccine. Additionally, it remains very important for everyone who is eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine. The Minnesota Department of Health has launched a flu campaign as part of National Influenza Vaccination Week to remind us all of the importance of getting our flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine as a way to protect yourself and others. The unique band aid designs featured in the campaign were created by local MN artists.

Athletics updates

We now have eight winter sports underway as the Men’s and Women’s Nordic Ski teams got their seasons underway last weekend in Duluth at the Grand Avenue Nordic Center. The Men’s and Women’s Track & Field teams had a few members compete down in Mankato on Saturday, but they really get going this Saturday when we host The Opener in the BWC Fieldhouse. Action begins at noon. Come check it out!

Congratulations to Women’s Soccer Senior Morgan Friday, who earned Second Team All-Region honors for the third time in her career. Another senior athlete, Football’s Mitchell Adrian, will take part in the FCS National Bowl on Sunday down in Daytona Beach, Florida.

In closing, a reminder to our beloved Saints Community to practice safe protocols both on and off our sites. Across the country and in Minnesota, our healthcare systems are under severe strain. Please do your part to ensure the safety of all by wearing masks, getting vaccinated and washing your hands regularly. We are all weary of the pandemic, we all want to enjoy a wonderful holiday season, and by taking precautions especially when out in the communities we live in, will make a difference. Thank you for being Saints!

Enjoy your weekend, and happy Friday!

Barbara
