College of St. Scholastica named a College of Distinction
The College of St. Scholastica has been recognized for its honorable commitment to engaging, hands-on education by Colleges of Distinction, a one-of-a-kind guide for college-bound students. As an institution whose primary goals are based on student success and satisfaction, St. Scholastica claims its honor as one of the renowned Colleges of Distinction.
Colleges of Distinction’s longstanding support for student-centered schools highlight those that traditional rankings often overlook. Each year, the organization hand-picks a selection of top schools that are well equipped to provide a personalized education catered to students’ interests. Selected institutions strive for excellence in line with four overarching distinctions: student engagement, teaching, community and outcomes.
St. Scholastica was selected based on high-impact practices within those distinctions, including its Dignitas first-year seminar offering, service-learning programs, alternative spring break options, commitment to inclusive excellence and global learning, intensive writing courses, interdisciplinary programs, collaborative assignments and projects, undergraduate research opportunities, capstone projects, study abroad programs and internships.
Additionally, the College earned individual recognitions in the categories of Catholic identity, career development, military support and programs in business, education and nursing.
“We are honored to be a part of the Colleges of Distinction family,” said Lindsay Schall, executive director of enrollment management. “This is special because it celebrates all of the things that make us uniquely St. Scholastica. It’s a national recognition that demonstrates how we strive to prepare our students for a life of purpose and to be changemakers in their communities.”
The College joins eight other Minnesota colleges and universities that have been named 2021-22 Colleges of Distinction.
