The College of St. Scholastica

Author Yaa Gyasi will deliver in-person remarks as part of the College’s Francis X. Shea Memorial Lectureship series. Named for former College President Francis X. Shea, the purpose of the series is to provide the College and community audience with an opportunity to explore the relationship between religion and literature through broad ranging topics.

Gyasi’s visit will be held on Thursday, April 21 in the College’s Mitchell Auditorium and is free and open to the public.

The lecture is made possible, in part, thanks to St. Scholastica’s partnership with the Dignitas Program, which has chosen her book “Transcendent Kingdom” as the first year students’ common read. Her visit is also made possible thanks to the Honors Program, the Women’s and Gender Studies Program, the Catholic Studies Program, the General Education Program, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
