The College of St. Scholastica

Dear Colleagues,

Easter blessings to you all! Our update this week comes to you on a Thursday and is shorter than usual!

Gold for Advancement, too!

Congratulations to our College Advancement team for receiving a Gold Award during the 37th Annual EduAD Awards! They were recognized for outstanding work in the category of Total FundRaising/Development Campaign.

The Educational Advertising Awards is the largest, oldest and most respected educational advertising awards competition in the country. This year, they received over 2,000 entries from over 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.

Student Employee of the Year

On Monday, Elena Bissonette was presented with the College’s Student Employee of the Year honor. Elena is a triple major, preparing to graduate this spring with degrees in organizational leadership, Spanish and educational studies. Her nominators from Career Services and the School of Education and Social Work celebrated her many contributions – training in other students, representing the College at events and always asking what else she can do to help serve students in their academic and career success.

Congratulations to Elena and heartfelt thanks to all of the fellow nominees and student employees who go above and beyond in supporting the mission of St. Scholastica!

Athletics updates

The Athletics Department held its ninth Saints Sports Awards in the Mitchell Auditorium last Sunday. Here is a recap of the winners.

A big winner from the Sports Awards was Men’s Cross Country/Track & Field student-athlete Calvin Boone and the honors kept on coming for Calvin this week as he was named the MIAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.  A huge thank you to Jesse Robinson and his team for the outstanding video programming and to the coordinators who put the evening together. The enthusiasm and fellowship of the evening was incredible.

I hope you all have a safe and beautiful Easter break and weekend ahead.

Sincerely,

Barbara
