Women's Cross Country - vs. UMAC Championship
Women dominate at UMAC's, Men finish 2nd

With one of their best showings at a UMAC championship, St. Scholastica cross country returned home with a fifth consecutive women's title and a 2nd place men's finish that put 8-time champion Martin Luther on alert.
The women's team race was totally dominated by the Saints as seven of the initial eight runners across the finish line were from St. Scholastica. Northwestern's Lauren Brueberg (Fr.) was first across the line but then the blue wave of Saints hit, led by senior Jen Houck. Stacy Kantola was nearly at Houck's shoulder in 3rd, followed closely by Amy Wicker. Erin Reicks, Brittany Peterson, Bridget Smith and Kelly Nelson were next for St. Scholastica, effectively locking up the championship before hte 9th place runner finished. All seven Saints earned All-Conference honors with their top-10 finishes.
In the men's race, the Saints are beginning to creep up on the perennial champions from Martin Luther. Last season the Knights ran away from all competitors placing their first five runners in the top-10. This year the Saints closed the gap, falling only 14 points behind the champion Knights. Sophomore Chris Rubesch earned his first All-Conference honor by finishing 3rd overall in the meet. Dave Seglem (11th), Joe Stromsness (12), Jim Skoog (15), Chad Johnson (16), Ben Hadrich (18) and Dan Seglem (23) were all in the top-25 for the Saints.
