Women's Soccer - vs. Presentation College
Win streak continues with easy victory over Presentation
It took only 3:37 for the Saints to get on the scoreboard in today's conference match-up against Presentation as Robin Johnson scored her seventh goal of the season, this one from an assist by Shannon Kresky.
When Keely Raab got her fourth goal of the season a little more than three minutes later, the rout was on. Raab's goal came off assists from Krista Parrent and Sarah Certano.
Johnson scored again for St. Scholastica, one-timing a perfect corner kick from Raab, then Kaylee Hunter finished off the first half with her first goal of the season. Raab sent a corner kick towards goal that Jennifer Weinzettel tapped to Hunter.
With the halftime score 4-0 the Saints were cautious to not let the visitors back into the match. Kristy Shelerud notched two goals within the opening five minutes of play in the second half, the first unassisted and the second, assisted by Pam Thomsen. The Weinzettel took her cracks getting one goal on a fantastic header off a feed from Kresky, then scoring an unassisted goal on the flustered Presentation keeper.
The final goal came from Jen Seip who scored in the 80th minute, on a penalty kick.
The Saints women are riding a five-game win streak that has helped propel them to #25 in the NAIA national rankings.
