Women's Soccer - vs. WI-Stout
UW-Stout steals one from Saints

St. Scholastica and Stout played scoreless soccer throughout the first half but an early second half goal by Stout and a few 'just miss' shots by the Saints allowed the host Blue Devils to steal a 1-0 win from the visitors.

Though only taking 4 shots in the first half, the Saints were certainly right in the game against Stout. The Blue Devils scored within one minute of the opening of the second half, though, when a clearing shot from a Saints defender caromed off the head of a Stout player settling down in the center of the field for a quick run between defenders and the goal that gave the host a 1-0 lead.

St. Scholastica hit both the post and cross-bar in the game to further frustrate the struggling offense, especially after they outshot the Blue Devils 10-7 in the second half. The game ended with the Saints pressing, putting three shots toward goal in the final 5 minutes of the contest, one sailing wide and the other two saved by the Stout keeper to preserve the win.
