Women's Soccer - vs. MN-Duluth
Cross town rival takes 3-0 win over Saints

The Saints learned a lot about what they need to do to continue to improve through the rest of the season from tonight's match-up against local foe UMD. In a fast-paced game, each Bulldog goal was a result of solid play but each exploited an area Coach Dave Reyelts feels the squad needs to, and will improve upon.

St. Scholastica gave up an early goal just before the 10 minute mark, the Bulldgos taking advantage of a brief lapse in the defensive end to the right of the goal. For more than 20 minutes the Saints played well and began to tilt the field their way.

Just as Keely Raab, Robin Johnson and the Saints were ratcheting up the pressure in the offensive end, UMD broke out on a play that ended with another goal for a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute.

Kristin Lammi, who would end up with 14 saves, came up time and again with save after save to keep the Saints in the game, the team entering halftime down only two goals.

UMD came out with a quick goal only four minutes into the second half that gave them a 3-0 lead and allowed them to tighten things down and make it difficult for the offense to press the ball through to goal. The remainder of the game went scoreless, the Bulldogs dealing St. Scholastica their first loss of the season.
