Women's Basketball - vs. Presentation College
Saints suffer second conference loss

For the second game in a row, the Saints took a lead into halftime on the road but were unable to bring home a win. This time it was Presentation College's turn to flip a 6 point deficit at the intermission into a 3 point home victory.

The Saints got a combined 42 points from seniors Jen Kne and Sarah Klocke but only 23 from the rest of the team. Meanwhile, Presentation had three players with 16 or more points in the game and shot 11 of 25 from the 3-point line in the win over the visiting Saints.

Kne's 23 points tied for game-high honors with Callie Antonsen from Presentation, and Klocke was next highest with 19. Antonsen led all players in rebounds with 11.

Presentation went to the foul line 10 more times than St. Scholastica over the course of the game including an astounding 20 times in the second half. With neither team shooting exceptionally well from the field -- 37% for the Saints and 36% for Presentation -- the excess number of opportunities from the free throw line helped the hosts turn the halftime deficit around.

The Saints were forced to reach down their bench in the second half as the fouls mounted and two players fouled out while Presentation enjoyed the luxury of fewer calls against them and stuck with a short bench -- 6 players reached 20-plus minutes of playing time, with only one other player coming off the bench for a total of 9 minutes of game action.

The loss puts the Saints into a bit of hole at 0-2 as they begin their conference slate. Presentation improved their UMAC record to 2-0 with the win.
