Early run by UW-Stout stifles Saints

The host Blue Devils opened the game with a 12-0 run that the Saints never recovered from, Stout building its lead all game to a 93-56 final score on its home court in Menomonie.

Saints leading scorer Jen Kne, averaging over 15 points per game going in to the contest, was held to just one 3-point basket and four points from the free throw line over the course of the game, ending with a season-low 7 points.

The Blue Devils shot a sizzling 65% in the first half while opening a 49-28 lead over the Saints. Sarah Klocke scored 8 of her game-leading 21 points in the first half as the Saints shot only 30% from the field over the first 20 minutes.

The second half was just a steady climb for the Blue Devils as they built to the final 39 point margin. Their stifling defense limited the Saints to just 9 for 40 shooting (22.5%) in the half while they cooled only slightly, shooting 44% from the field.

Klocke ended as the game-leader in steals with 3, increasing her team-leading season total to 24.
