Stevens Point too much for Saints
Facing their first nationally ranked opponent this season, the Saints were unable to gain the upset as they fell to the Pointers in the UW-SP Tournament championship game, 67-50.
The Saints were ahead five at 30-25 heading into intermission bu were outscored by 22 in the second half as their shooting percentage dipped to under 15% compared to their first half rate of 33%.
Amanda Johnson and Whitney Latham were in double-figures for the Saints, both scoring 10 points in the contest. Jen Kne, who broke the 1,000 point career barrier in the opening round of the Tournament, found a defense that wouldn't allow a clean shot and ended with 6 points.
Senior Sarah Klocke led the Saints in rebounds with 8 while Heather Saralampi was the game-leader in steals with 6.
Jen Kne and Whitnely Latham earned the honor of being named to the 6-player All-Tournament team.
