Women's Basketball - vs. Stevens Point Tournament-Macalester
Kne surpasses 1,000 career points in easy win over Macalester

With the first 8 points of the game for St. Scholastica, senior Jen Kne passed through the 1,000 point barrier as the Saints demolished Macalester 75-24.

Kne entered the game with 993 points and with tonight's game-leading 22 she is now at 1,015. She might have easily passed the mark at the end of last season but a late-season injury forced her to the bench and to await passing the milestone mark until this year.

The Saints built steadily through the first half to a 31-14 lead at the intermission, then even with the starters on the sideline, the Saints extended their margin throughout the second half. The crushing blow for Macalester was the 26-0 run the Saints opened the half with.

Eleven Saints players made it into double-digits for minutes played, but it was Kne who was unstoppable. She was 8 for 11 from the field including 4 of 6 behind the 3-point line, and 2 for 2 at the free throw stripe. Heather Saralampi added 10 points and led the Saints in rebounds with 8. Sarah Klocke led the team in assists with 3 while defensively she led all players in steals with 5.

For the game, the Saints shot 41.8% from the field and 36.4% from 3-point land. They had 3 blocked shots and 19 steals in the contest.
