Women's Volleyball - vs. Northland College
Saints gain pair of quick victories at Northland St. Scholastica traveled to Northland College Wednesday to take on the host and Finlandia University in a tri-match. The Saints won easily over both opponents, 3-0 each match, with a average winning margin of 16 points.
In the opener against Northland (30-14, 30-16, 30-21), St. Scholastica limited Northland to a paltry .065 hitting percentage while acheiving a .243 percentage themselves.
Ashley Hanson led the Saints in both kills (14) and digs (12), recording yet another double-double. In a small line up swich, Katie Berscheit was the setter for most of the evening and led all players in the match with 25 assists. Diana Moody led all players with 5 service aces, the Saints recording 10 aces total in the match.
Against Finlandia (30-10, 30-11, 30-12), the Saints made even quicker work of their opponents. Laura Lief moved back to the main setter position and led all players with 35 assists. Hanson (13) and Shawna Varichak (11) were the only match players in double figures in kills while defensively, four players were in double figures in digs - Natalie Ristow with 19, Hanson with 17, Lief with 15, and 11 for Moody.
The Saints totally dominated the match as they achieved a .312 successful attack percentage and forced Finlandia into a negative -.039 attack rate.
