Saints win two over weekend

Saints volleyball kept pace with the UMAC leaders over the weekend, taking two matches by identical 3-1 scores.
In Friday's win (30-23, 30-32, 30-24, 30-27) at UMN-Morris, three Saints were in double figures in kills and three achieved double figures in digs. Ashley Hanson was the match leader in kills with 19, while LeAnn Berscheit had 16 and Shawna Varichak added 12. Natalie Ristow was the match co-leader in digs with 24 in the four-game match, with Diana Moody registering 17 and Hanson 10 more for the Saints. Laura Lief led all in set assists with 50.
At Presentation College on Saturday, the Saints dropped the first game but stormed back to win three in a row for the victory (24-30, 30-12, 30-21, 30-18). Hanson had another double-double as she had 15 kills and 15 assists. Varichak had 14 kills in the match, and Ristow led the Saints in digs with 21. LeAnn Berscheit had 2 solo blocks and 4 block assists to lead the team while Hanson added 2 solo and 2 block assists. For the match, the Saints had 13.0 blocks compared to only 6.5 for Presentation.
