Men's Cross Country - vs. Concordia Univ. (WI) Invite
Against stiff competition, Saints still shine
Facing the 6th place team from the 2004 NCAA Division-III Women's Cross Country Championships didn't intimidate the Saints women's team. St. Scholastica finished second at the Concordia-Wis. Invitational, behind only the nationally ranked UW-Stevens Point squad.
Twelve of thirteen runners had either season or personal best times in the 5K women's race, and their scoring runners' average time of 20:24 was a season best for the squad. Senior Jenn Houck led the Saints with an 8th place finish.
The men continue to improve as they cut nearly a minute off their scoring runners' average time of one week ago, this week finishing with a 29:46 top five average for an 8K course. As a team the Saints were the highest ranked NAIA program, finishing 5th overall behind only Division-III programs. Individually, all six runners for St. Scholastica had season or personal best runs.
