I have been working as a FT employee and contract consultant in the business and IT field for 10 years. I specialize in Quality Assurance and technical writing, where quality is of the utmost importance.
I have several years' experience managing and testing systems from small business web sites to large major corporations. I have also done extensive technical writing in many different forms such as: policies, procedures, installation manuals of software products, user's guides, help manuals for end users and senior level executives, web content writing for online businesses and Sarbanes-Oxley compliant documentation.
I have completed software quality assurance work for in-house developed systems as well as third party software for a couple of online businesses. I have 2 years experience writing company manuals and in-house documentation for Active International's website and in-house programs (www.activeinternational.com).
In addition, I spent 15 months writing technical documentation, creating test plans and procedure reports for Prudential Relocation (www.prudentialrelocation.com). These business requirement manuals were created for the senior level executives, IT employees and the end-users of the systems.
During my Master degree program at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, I had the chance in several classes to work individually and in groups participating in real-world situations that have helped generate my consulting career. In most of my classes, the projects required dealing with real-life outside clients (i.e. In my Database Management course, I was part of a group that needed to find a client and build a database for them. In my Systems Analysis course, I was part of a group that did systems analysis for an outside client. In my Project course, I worked individually to create a web site for an outside client). Needless to say, the Masters degree program I went through gave it's students extensive real-life scenarios to develop us individually, as professionals, and by helping us add great experience to our resumes!
Due to my rigorous Masters degree program experience, I am able to understand the needs and wants of the online student to hear about real-world experiences in their classes, not just lectures and text readings.
