The following is a list of subscription catalogs (i.e. those that are fee-based, and therefore password controlled) offered through the CSS Library. Please see the "books" tab on our Library's main page for library catalogs, such as our ScholastiCAT, that are free to use.
Books in Print
Use BIP for locating information for ordering books. It is not a library catalog. CSS faculty should use our Faculty Library Resources page for ordering books.
netLibrary
"netLibrary is an easy-to-use, Web-based system for identifying, retrieving and reading full-text reference, scholarly, professional and literary books. The netLibrary collection, available to all library users in Minnesota and North and South Dakota, consists of over 8,500 copyrighted and public domain titles. The collection, purchased jointly over time by MINITEX, Metronet, South Dakota State Library and National American University, is a shared and growing collection. There is no charge to libraries or library users for netLibrary access."
Reference Universe
This database searches the title of articles and the indexes of print and electronic reference books, such as almanacs, dictionaries, and specialized encyclopedias. The search can be limited to those reference works which are owned by the CSS Library. Use this database to find concise, authoritative information from print sources in the library. Direct links to the full-text of electronic titles are available if the work is owned by the library.
WorldCat
The premier union catalog provided by OCLC, with access to over 40 million records from 14 countries.
