Pre-Health Professions
Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of advising will I receive?
As a pre-health profession student, you will be enrolled in the pre-professional tracking program. The coordinator will advise you on your program requirements.
Will there be a club of like minded students?
CSS offers a wide variety of clubs and activities. The Pre-Med Club and the Pre-Pharmacy Club would offer the greatest peer support for a pre-health profession student.
Will I be able to observe/shadow and intern with practitioners?
Yes! The pre-professional tracking program will give you the guidance you need to shadow or intern with a doctor or pharmacist in your area of interest. The Pre-Health Professions Advisory Board has a prestigious list of members who are available for mentoring and shadowing opportunities.
Will I be taking special classes?
The biology and chemistry departments at CSS offer phenomenal classes and instructors that will prepare you for graduate school. Each graduate school has different course requirements for acceptance. The Pre-Professional Program Coordinator will help you to enroll in the specialty course offered at CSS that best suites your grad school requirements.
Is there a disadvantage if I start at a school without the actual professional schools on the campus?
There are no disadvantages to attending a school that does not have a professional school. CSS has numerous benefits that many schools in our region do not provide. CSS graduates pre-health professional students every year who are accepted into medical, veterinary and pharmacy colleges nationwide.
Are there study sessions for the MCAT/PCAT/VCAT test?
Study sessions are coordinated with the pre-professional tracking program and the Pre-Med Club. Students will be encouraged to take responsibility for studying independently as well.
