The Behavioral Arts and Sciences (BAS) Division consists of the departments of Computer Science/Computer Information Systems, Education, Management, Psychology, and Sociology. Students who major in Behavioral Arts and Sciences departments are interested in studying
(a) why and how people think and act the way they do;
(b) the development of children, adolescents, adults, social groups, and organizations;
(c) how people work with other people, with organizations, and with information; and
(d) how to apply this knowledge in their careers.
Thus, "people" and "application" are important themes in the BAS Division's academic departments. The BAS divisional major recognizes, however, that a student may not want to be limited to the specific requirements of a particular department. In order to receive a broad educational experience directly related to one's interests and goals, the student, with advisement, constructs his/her own BAS major consisting of courses from departments within the BAS Division.
