Women's Soccer - vs. MARTIN LUTHER
SAINTS UNSTOPPABLE IN WIN OVER MARTIN LUTHER
St. Scholastica pounded away with 32 shots on a pair of shell-shocked Martin Luther College goalies Friday afternoon in their 13-0 win over the visiting Knights at Public Schools Stadium. Angie Groh lofted a long ball over the top of the defense that teammate Shannon Kresky easily touched into the back of the net for the first Saints goal only 94 seconds into the contest. Robin Johnson stepped up next for the Saints and scored three successive goals only five minutes and 17 seconds apart, her first two coming with only 10 seconds between each. Both Kresky and Sara Olson scored two goals and added two assists while six other teammates notched one goal in the rout. The Saints were so dominant throughout the match that Martin Luther managed only one shot, a harmless ball midway through the second half that winning goalie Kelly Vilen wasn’t required to even make a play on. St. Scholastica improves their overall record to 12-2-1 and remains undefeated in conference action with a perfect 10-0-0 mark. The win also stretched their undefeated regular season UMAC streak to 39 games. Martin Luther fell to 2-11-0 overall and 2-8-0 in the UMAC.
