SAINTS SWEEP PURPLE STORM

The Saints swept aside the host Purple Storm 3-0 in a UMAC match Saturday afternoon at Crown College.

The win ends a three-match losing streak for the Saints and improves their season records to 9-13 overall and 4-2 in the UMAC.

Megan Baartman continues to sub for injured regular Saints setter Kati Berscheit, and against Crown Baartman registered a match-high 34 assists.

Still leading the Saints attack, though, is Shawna Varichak and Dustie Richardson. Varichak had a match-high 14 kills while Richardson added in nine more.

St. Scholastica travels to Northland College for their next match, a Tuesday afternoon match-up in Ashland, Wis. The LumberJills sit in second place within the current UMAC standings at 5-1, just ahead of the Saints but behind conference leader Northwestern College (6-0 UMAC) who defeated Northland 3-0 on Oct. 4 of this season.
