Women's Volleyball - vs. Millikin Univ. - Millikin Classic
HOST MILLIKIN TAKES OUT SAINTS

The hosts of the Millikin Classic were less than hospitable Friday night in Decatur, Ill., as Millikin University (11-2) won three straight over St. Scholastica (5-8) to put an end to the Saints' four match winning streak.

The opening match was nearly a point for point battle taken by the Big Blue, 32-30.

Millikin widened their winning margin in game two, 30-22, before the Saints put up a fight in the third though falling 30-27.

Shawna Varichak led the Saints with nine kills while Megan Baartman added eight more. Kati Berscheit registered 21 set assists on offense and picked up 16 digs on defense in the loss.

St. Scholastica ended the opening day of the Classic with a 1-1 record. On Saturday the Saints are set to play New York University in a 10 a.m. match to open the day, then will close out the Classic with a 2 p.m. match against Illinois Wesleyan.
