Men's Cross Country - vs. St. Olaf Invite
SAINTS RACE TO 20TH PLACE FINISH AT ST. OLAF
In one of the most star-studded Division III fields in the region, the Saints men's cross country team raced to a 20th place finish at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday morning. The 8-kilometer course is the same course the NCAA Championship will be run on and Saturday's meet collected not only the top teams in the Midwest but also ones from as far away as Pennsylvania (Allegheny College) and Massachusetts (M.I.T.) who wanted to take a crack at the national course. Chris Rubesch led the Saints for the third week in a row with a personal 8K record time of 27:45. He was 105th of 352 runners. Rounding out the scoring for the Saints were Jason Kask (158th), Paul Quiram (164th), Waylon Manske (180th), and Jake Turman (192nd). The meet was won by UW-LaCrosse who totaled 83 team points. The Saints were the highest placing UMAC team at the Invit. with their 599 points finishing in front of UM-Morris (25th, 792 points), Martin Luther College (26th, 797 pts.), and Crown College (27th, 798 pts.)
