Women's Cross Country - vs. St. Olaf Invite
WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY HAS STELLAR SHOWING AT OLAF INVITE
In one of the most star-studded Division III fields in the region, the Saints women's cross country team raced to a 14th place finish at the St. Olaf Invitational on Saturday morning. The 6-kilometer course is the same course the NCAA Championship will be run on and Saturday's meet collected not only the top team in the Midwest but also teams from as far away as Massachusetts (M.I.T.) who wanted to take a crack at the national course. St. Scholastica's Julia Curry had a phenomenal race, never dropping out of the top ten throughout the 6K race and finishing in a time of 23:08 and in 10th place out of 369 runners. Jessie Lovering was next across the finish for the Saints with a time of 23:55 that put her in 31st place. Rounding out the scoring positions for the Saints were Brittany Peterson in 96th, Tara Connolly in 105th, and Megan Salo in 123rd place. UW-Eau Claire took the top spot at the Invit. with a team score of 97 points. The Saints were the top finishing UMAC school at the meet, their 365 points easily outdistancing UM-Morris (22nd, 703 points), Crown College (23rd, 727 pts.), and Martin Luther College (25th, 774 pts.)
