Women's Volleyball - vs. Elmhurst @ Elmhurst Tour.
SAINTS PICK UP FIRST WIN OF 2007

St. Scholastica played the ungracious visitor on Saturday morning at the Elmhurst (Ill.) College Invitational as they picked up their first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over the host school.

The Saints (1-2) jumped out to a 2-0 lead after two games but Elmhurst (0-3) battled back in the penultimate game for a win to stave off the loss, if only temporarily.

St. Scholastica bounced back in game four for a powerful 30-19 win that closed out the match.

Dustie Richardson had a match-high 11 kills for the Saints while teammate Kati Berscheit led all players with 34 set assists.

The Saints played a strong game defensively as four players reached double digits in digs. Diana Moody picked up 36 -- tops in the match -- followed by Megan Baartman's 22, Cassie Roden's 21, and Berscheit's 18 digs.

At the net the Saints totaled 17.5 blocks to only seven by Elmhurst. Baartman had a career- and match-high 10 solo blocks for the Saints.
