Transfer Benedictine Scholarship
The College of St. Scholastica annually awards Benedictine Scholarships to admitted transfer students who demonstrate a high level of academic achievement and potential (excludes students enrolled in special programs with reduced tuition rates).
There are three different levels of the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship:
Benedictine Emeritus- $6,000 per year for a cumulative GPA at 3.5 or higher(4.0 scale)
Benedictine Founders- $5,000 per year for a cumulative GPA between 3.0 - 3.49
Benedictine Heritage- $4,000 per year for a cumulative GPA of 2.5 to 2.99
Q: What criteria is taken into consideration for the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship?
A: The scholarship is based on your cumulative GPA from all educational institutions attended after high school.
Q: Is my Transfer Benedictine Scholarship level determined at the time I apply or can it be changed if my GPA goes up?
A: Your Transfer Benedictine level is determined based on your final transfer GPA when all official transcripts from previous institutions are received (prior to your first term of entry).
Q: Is the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship automatically incorporated into my financial aid package or do I need to apply for this scholarship?
A: The Transfer Benedictine is automatically incorporated into your financial aid award. You do not have to fill out a separate application.
Q: What do I have to do to keep this scholarship?
A: You must maintain a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) in order to keep your Transfer Benedictine Scholarship.
Q: Is the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship a renewable scholarship or do I need to reapply for it?
A:The Transfer Benedictine Scholarship is renewable after the first year for as long as you are enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student. You do not need to reapply--the scholarship renews automatically if minimum requirements are met.
Q: Will the Transfer Benedictine Scholarship affect any other scholarships that I may receive?
A: No. The Transfer Benedictine Scholarship is considered a merit-based scholarship. Other institutional merit or talent-based scholarships will be added in total to your award package. The only exceptions are the College's Alpha Beta Gamma and Phi Theta Kappa Benedictine Scholarships--you cannot receive both the Transfer Benedictine and Alpha Beta Gamma or Phi Theta Kappa Benedictine Scholarships concurrently.
