Women's Softball - vs. Northland (WI)
SAINTS RALLY FOR SPLIT AT NORTHLAND

St. Scholastica earned a split in a doubleheader with Northland College on Sunday afternoon in Ashland, Wis., with game two's 9-1 win.

The Saints (20-16, 11-1 UMAC) increased their lead over second place Northland (21-16, 11-3) in the league standings with the game two victory.

The only blemish on starting pitcher Amy Jansen's day for the Saints was a solo shot she surrendered in the fifth inning. It was an otherwise strong outing for the sophomore who improved to 6-7 on the year after allowing just the one run on two hits, two walks, and two strikeouts.

Senior Rilee Dawson again came up big for the Saints at the plate with her three-run homerun in a six-run fifth inning. Six consecutive Saints reached base and scored in the inning, sparked by Chelsey Weiss' two-out single that got the ball rolling.

Gina Garramone finished 3-for-4 in the game and scored two runs. Weiss, Erica Kozacek, and Katie Brown also had multi-hit games for the Saints collecting two hits apiece in the win.

The Saints now will enter their season finale on Tuesday afternoon against Crown College needing only one win in the doubleheader to clinch their ninth consecutive and 11th overall UMAC regular season title.
