Amber Goodspeed

Amber Goodspped

Amber Goodspeed, who is in the Honor's Program, is majoring in English Secondary Education and minoring in Theatre.

Amber says that her plan to be an English teacher fits well with her theatre minor because her experience in theatre will make it easier to direct plays and use the knowledge she has gained in the classroom. She is also considering applying into a graduate program in Educational Theatre and believes that her experiences with CSS Theatre have prepared her for that path.

One of the best parts of the theatre program for Amber was simply the relationships she was able to build through it. She says that being in theatre really brings people together.

Amber says that Merry Vaughan, whom she has known for three years now, is an amazing professor and an amazing person. Amber considers herself lucky to have had her as both a director and a professor.

Amber's favorite classes were Acting for the Stage with Merry and the Theatre History classes she has taken. She said that not only was Acting for the Stage fun, but she had the opportunity to experiment and improve her acting style. She liked her Theatre History classes because she believes that the knowledge she has gained will help her when she is a teacher and the classes have prepared her for any theatre instruction or directing she may do in the future.
