Women's Basketball - vs. Crown College
SAINTS STIFLE CROWN IN ROAD WIN

The Saints so dominated the Purple Storm on Friday night that not only was Coach Deadrick able to get all 16 of her players onto the floor in the 62-37 rout, but she spread playing time out so evenly that 11 players were in double-digits in minutes played with only one surpassing the 20 minute mark.

Senior Jessie Stenberg had a team-high 13 points in her 21 minutes of court time and was the team's co-leader in rebounds with senior Heather Saralampi, each pulling down seven apiece as the Saints out rebounded Crown 37 to 28 for the game.

Stenberg was the only Saint to reach double-figures in scoring but 10 other teammates also registered at least one basket in the easy, road victory in St. Bonifacius.

Crown's Angie Hostetter had a game-high 14 points in the losing effort.

In contrast to the 31 points from the St. Scholastica bench, Crown got only two points of production from their non-starters.

St. Scholastica (9-12, 5-5 UMAC) jumped out to a 9-0 lead right from the opening tip, then stretched their margin over Crown (4-18, 0-12 UMAC) to 15 at the half.

Though the Saints shooting percentage fell from 46 percent in the opening half to only 32 percent in the second, their stifling defense smothered Crown over the final 20 minutes and limited the host Storm to 5-of-28 (18%) shooting from the field and a paltry total of 13 points including three successful free throws.

The Saints stay on the road for a match-up against the Eagles from Northwestern College on Saturday afternoon, February 10, at 3 p.m.
