Women's Basketball - vs. Presentation College
SAINTS FALL TO PRESENTATION IN HIGH SCORING AFFAIR
Both St. Scholastica and Presentation College had hot shooting nights but it was the Saints from Presentation that finished at 59 percent from the field to defeat the Saints from Minnesota in a conference match-up in South Dakota.
St. Scholastica had their second best night of the season shooting 50 percent (30-of-60) and had four players reach double-figures led by Erin Niles' career-high 22 points but Presentation shot a blistering 64 percent in the opening half to take a 45-27 lead into the locker rooms.
The teams played straight up in the second half, each scoring 43 points, but Presentation was able to make the first half lead stand up despite St. Scholastica's 59 percent second half shooting.
Megan Downs (17 points), Heather Saralampi (16), and Whitney Latham (12) were the other St. Scholastica players in double-figures while Presentation was led by Holly Novstrup's 23 points and a trio of teammates, each reaching double-figures, chipped in with a combined 52 points.
The loss drops St. Scholastica's season records to 5-10 overall and 1-3 within the UMAC while Presentation moves to 5-9 and 4-1.
