Men's Cross Country - vs. Crown College Invite
Saints men finish third at Crown Invitational
The Saints men’s cross country team took third at the Crown College Invitational even without some of their top runners, who competed in Friday’s Millikin University Invitational in Forsythe, IL.
The men faced competition from Crown College, North Central University and Buena Vista University.
The St. Scholastica men finished with 51 points – just eleven points behind the first place Buena Vista team that finished the race with a mere 40 points. North Central was second with 43 points while Crown took fourth with 76.
Like the CSS women, a trio of Saints runners led the team in the men’s 8K race. Senior Reid Smith (29:24), freshman John Bradshaw (29:27) and senior Dan Seglem (29:32) were seventh, eighth and ninth overall.
Just behind the leaders were sophomore Kyle Smith (30:29) and freshman Jason Sargent (30:31), who finished thirteenth and fourteenth overall for the Saints.
North Central University’s Daniel Bare took first overall in 28:03. NCU placed three runners in the top ten finishers, including John Gieske in fourth place with a time of 28:10 and Dan Scally (28:57) in sixth.
