Women's Cross Country - vs. Crown College Invitational
CSS women take first at Crown Invitational
The Saints women's cross country team took first at the Crown College Invitational even without some of their top runners, who instead competed in Friday’s Millikin University Invitational in Forsythe, IL.
In the 5K race, the women faced the teams from Crown College, North Central University, Buena Vista University and UM-Morris.
St. Scholastica finished with a mere 30 points as they were led by Tara Connelly, Amy Wicker and Bridget Smith. Connelly was third overall (21:14) with Wicker (21:24) and Smith (21:31) right behind in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Also placing for the Saints were juniors Megan Salo (21:35), who took seventh overall, and Maggie Kadding (21:55), who was not far behind in eleventh place.
Kateryna Zhdanovych of UM-Morris, won the women’s race with her time of 20:30. North Central University’s Trisha Steen (20:31) finished in second place.
