Saints third baseman Luke Olin culminated a career-best season with one final honor, earning inclusion on the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division-III All-American team.
Olin (Duluth, Minn./East HS), a senior captain of the conference champion Saints squad, was named Third Team All-American after leading the team in nearly every offensive category including a new NCAA single-season record of 15 triples.
After batting .315 his junior season, his average rocketed to .389 this year with 59 hits and 27 extra-base hits which nearly eclipsed his junior year total of 29 hits.
The UMAC All-Conference performer tallied 40 RBI and 51 runs as well as 20 stolen bases, each a Saints best this season.
Olin’s All-American honor completes an award-laden post-season in which he also earned UMAC All-Tournament and First Team All-Midwest Region honors.
The Saints (37-6, 21-0 UMAC) rose as high as No. 4 in the nation before being eliminated in the NCAA Midwest Region, the second consecutive year the Saints have made it into the Regional. They also won their tenth consecutive UMAC regular-season title and post-season tournament.
