Jazz Band is open to students from all majors. We rehearse one night a week plus sectionals. Students have the opportunity to develop as soloists in different venues. Swing, Ballads, Funk and Latin are some of the styles we study. We add musical punch to campus events such as Open Houses, Swing Dance for Family Weekend and we perform concerts throughout the year.
History
The College of St. Scholastica Jazz Ensemble was started in the Fall of 1997. The program has grown and progressed every year since. The band rehearses once a week and plays two concerts each year. In addition the band plays a variety of other events, including swing dances, games and open houses.
