Men's Cross Country - vs. St. Scholastica Invite
SAINTS EDGE SUPERIOR FOR TOP SPOT AT CSS INVITE

Though race favorite Matt Kramer of UW-Superior fulfilled expectations, it was the Saints that grabbed the team title in Wednesday's CSS Invite as St. Scholastica edged the Yellowjackets by six points in the team race.

Crown College finished in third place, 40 points behind Superior.

St. Scholastica's Jason Kask finished in second place behind Kramer, with a time of 23 minutes and 4.1 seconds with teammate Tyler Kjorstad in fourth with a time of 24:16.5 on the four-mile course.

The 'Jackets and Saints alternated places for the first four spots with Superior crossing in first and third and the Saints in second and fourth. But St. Scholastica pushed two runners across the line ahead of Superior's next finisher to take the points lead.

Reid Smith was sixth in a time of 25:03.7 for the Saints while teammate Joe Stromsness was not far behind, finishing seventh in 25:14.6.

When the Saints' fifth runner, senior Dan Seglem, sprinted to the finish in ninth place (25:48.8) ahead of the fourth and fifth runners from Superior, St. Scholastica captured the team race.
