Men's Cross Country - vs. Univ. of MN Griak Invitational
SAINTS BATTLE THROUGH FIELD AT GRIAK INVITE
In a field filled with some of the best Division-II and -III cross country teams in the midwest, the Saints battled through injury and 500 runners to finish in 45th place at the Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, on Saturday morning.
Sophomore Jason Kask crossed the finish line in 28 minutes and 6 seconds to lead the Saints. His time placed him in 140th place of the crowded field for the 8,000 meter race at the Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Dan Seglem ran a season-best 30:56 to finish in 307th place as the fifth Saints runner while teammate Kyle Smith also recorded a season-best with a 31:19.
Dan Conley and Chris Rubesch, both perennial leaders and point scorers for the Saints, both fought through injury at the race. Rubesch rolled an ankle in the race and severely hampered him throughout the race and Conley succumbed to injury and was unable to finish.
