The Saints fell to 0-2 to start the season after losing to Valley City State 3-1 at the Concordia Classic in Moorhead, Minnesota, Friday evening.
St. Scholastica took game one by a 30-26 score but lost the next three games in their second match at the Classic.
Sophomore Shawna Varichak picked up 16 kills in the four-game match, her first in double-figures this season.
Sophomore Katie Berscheit has slid nicely into the setter's role early in the 2006 season after playing in only 14 matches in the '05 season, registering 40 assists against Valley City.
The Saints resume play on Saturday against Mayville State and Bemidji State.
