Alwan, Sabah

Cultural diversity, political tolerance, and leadership ideology. Teaching experience in adult learning programs, from PhD, executive MBA, MS, undergraduate and weekend college. I have interacted in numerous lectures and international conferences on business and international affairs.

From 1996-present I have been inspiring thoughts through teaching and collaborative learning. I am an Arab, Muslim, father, husband, always searching for and celebrate justice, peace and truth. Born in Baghdad, Iraq which was a city of lights and majical nights now has become a city of darkness and the unknown.

Black, Samuel

Sam has never known other than diversity, in all its flavors. He has only lived in cities of over a million, until Duluth. He has taught college and/or high school in Oklahoma, Illinois, Kentucky, Wiconsin, and MN. From 1973 until 1983 he taught English as a Second Language, then he was the International Student Advisor at Oklahoma City University at the end of the 70s. He got back into ESL at an Oklahoma City high school before moving to Duluth. He has taught ESL at UWS as an adjunct.

Sam states, "I am a musician, a Jew, a writer, a teacher, a husband, father, and very concerned about the glories of this amazingly pluralistic world."

Background and training in Dismantling and Undoing Racism.

As the "born again" Christian wife of a Jewish man I learned to celebrate and respect the truth to be found in all faiths. I have experienced second hand the discrimination that is experienced by Jews. I have begun practicing Buddhist Meditation, and frequently participate in Native American spiritual practices. Most of my career, I have worked with the complex health problems and social stresses of people from all sexual orientations, illegal and legal immigrants, single parents, those in poverty, and the uninsured.
