Note: Meeting minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee admission. The College may still consider applicants with a lower GPA through a special status committee; contact an admissions counselor to learn more.
A returning student is a student who was admitted and enrolled in a program at St. Scholastica, but has been absent from the program for at least three continuous semesters, including summer. Our goal is to make this process smooth and easy for your return to St. Scholastica.
To return to the same program at St. Scholastica, a returning student must be in good academic standing and must apply for readmission to the College.
If a returning student has taken courses through other colleges during their absence from St. Scholastica, official transcripts from those colleges will be required for readmission.
A student who left the College on academic probation or enforced withdrawal, must, in addition to fulfilling the requirements listed above, apply at least one month before the application deadline for the term which the student expects to enroll and should show evidence of positive life change or academic progress in support of the application. Applications for students who withdrew under these circumstances will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee, which will make a recommendation to the VP for Academic Affairs. The decision made by the VP for Academic Affairs is final.
After readmission, a student returning to The College of St. Scholastica after a minimum non-enrollment period of five years may petition to the fresh start program. The fresh start program allows for a restart on a student’s grade point average. The student must petition the Registrar for the deletion of his/her former GPA. The new record will show all past courses, grades and credits, without indicating honor points. The GPA would then be calculated only on the credits earned upon return to The College of St. Scholastica.
Please order the following official transcripts:
All transcripts are required for admission and to determine the number of credits you may transfer to St. Scholastica. Transcripts must be received on or before the application deadline. Order early in the application process!
