Tutoring

The Center for Academic Success (CAS, also known as The Tutoring Center) encourages students to supplement their learning with activities outside the classroom to support and enhance their learning, such as through tutoring, which is an opportunity to talk about the course to a fellow student who has successfully completed it. Predominately following the undergraduate, Duluth Campus schedule and focusing on high-stakes courses, The Tutoring Center offers these opportunities to enhance student learning:

  • Walk-In Tutoring*: One-on-one or group sessions with tutors. Students follow the posted schedule to know when tutors for the needed subject will be available. Check out the current Tutoring Schedule.
  • Group Exam Prep: Tutors facilitate large exam prep sessions before a scheduled test. The classes and exams are chosen based on expressed need from faculty and students.

*We strive to serve all students who express interest and need. Because of our desire and our open structure, one-on-one planned appointments are not private and thus a tutor may need to serve more than one student in a given timeslot. This practice facilities confidence and group study strategies as students study course content.
